I garden quite a bit and okra is about the only thing that will survive in Houston summers so I will have GOBS of okra and need recipes to use it for! Typically you wouldn’t use okra and a shrimp creole dish but I think it’s a pretty delicious addition.
Ooh summer is almost here and I am excited for pool parties and eating way too much bbq. The quick approaching summer reminds me of yummy dishes I have had on the beach in far away lands that I wish I could escape to, again. I saw some great looking fish on sale in the market and since I am not the GREATEST cook, I thought ceviche would be one thing I could make and look nicely in some photos. I recently came across a pro-chef magazine, and this shoot was inspired by a beautifully plated beef tartar dish I saw. Not exactly the same, but it definitely gave me an idea to run with (and to snack on!)
Mmmm CAKE! I was inspired to make this pineapple upside down cake when I found my friend’s white ramekins in a cabinet. Great! Lets make a special yummy mini cake! I thought about what I could make that looked pretty in a smaller dish and came up with this recipe after looking at some other basic recipes.
